Directions: From the South: M6 to Carlisle, A74 short way West then A75 to Dumfries, then take the A711 to Dalbeattie, passing through and over the bridge, turn left (signposted Auchencairn) A711 - Follow along past Palnackie, past the turn off for Orchardton Tower, and we are opposite Screel Hill, the building can be seen from the road and is floodlit in the dark. Track on left signposted Orchardton.

Please note the map gives the impression that we are on the main road but we are actually down the track through the double gates. About 2/3 of a mile.
